The first 14 modules for the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company’s (KPIC) Al-Zour oil refinery project, manufactured by the Fluor-led joint venture FDH JV, have arrived in Kuwait.

Fluor Corporation is working with its joint venture partners, Daewoo Engineering and Construction and Hyundai Heavy Industries, to deliver two engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction packages for the Al-Zour refinery project.

188 modules are being constructed at the COOEC-Fluor Heavy Industries fabrication yard in Zhuhai, China and will be loaded onto a barge for onward transportation to Kuwait.

Upon completion, the new complex is expected to be one of the largest refineries in the world and produce 615,000 barrels per day.
