Khimji Ramdas Projects & Logistics has moved five pressure separators from the Nizwa Industrial Estate to the port of Duqm, Oman.

The consignment included both low and high-pressure separators. While the low-pressure units were the largest in length, measuring 27.3 m, the high-pressure separators were the heaviest at 322 tonnes. The shipment had a total weight of 1,200 tonnes.

To transport the components from the Nizwa Industrial Estate to the port of Duqm, a distance of approximately 700 km, Khimji Ramdas had to coordinate with Oman’s Ministry of Transport and the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

Each piece was loaded onto multi-axle trailers and accompanied by police escort vehicles for the journey, which was completed in four days.

At the port, the units were stored on stools and beams ready to be loaded onto a chartered vessel for onward transportation to Kuwait.

According to Khimji Ramdas, a member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN), the separators are the first of their kind to be manufactured and exported from Oman.
