LADOL partners with Mammoet

The Lagos Deep Offshore Logistic Base (LADOL) in Nigeria has signed a collaboration agreement with engineered transport and heavy lift specialist Mammoet.

The strategic partnership aims to expand LADOL’s capacity to handle project cargo. As a result of the agreement, LADOL will utilise Mammoet’s crane fleet and call upon its project management services to provide clients with “more comprehensive” services.

Mammoet will supply LADOL with its heavy lift terminal crane, the MTC 15, which LADOL said turns any quay into a heavy lift terminal; the crane can lift loads weighing up to 600 tonnes.

LADOL added that once the crane is installed on the quayside later this month, it will be the biggest shore crane of its kind in the region.

Mammoet will also mobilise a 250-tonne capacity crawler crane to support LADOL’s operations.

LADOL’s executive director, business development, Jide Jadesimi said: “The establishment of a long-term relationship between Mammoet and LADOL is an extremely exciting and significant development. This will massively increase local capacity, thereby attracting the general fabrication and complex construction jobs that are in increasing demand, not just in Nigeria but across the sub-region.”
