Solar demand drives Tigers expansion

Tigers South Africa is expanding its range of services to include the import of solar panels from China.

The solar panels are shipped from China into Cape Town and Durban, before being distributed across the country by Tigers, which is also providing Customs brokerage, local logistics, and warehouse storage to meet the growing demand for solar energy in South Africa.

The company is working with some of the major solar panel manufacturers, as well as Energy Partners, an energy solutions provider in the country.

“These are exciting times for Tigers as we move into the renewable energy sector, which is a growing market, especially in South Africa,” said Paul Lawrence, managing director of Tigers South Africa.

“In South Africa, there are frequent power failures, and with such high levels of sunshine in the region it makes sense for people to invest in solar power generation,” he added. “We expect the market for renewable energy to continue to grow in the coming years.”
