May 6 - Allport Cargo Services (ACS) has named incumbent managing director, Charles McGurin, as its new chief executive officer (ceo).

Founded over 50 years ago as Allport, ACS is now part of the Cargo Services Group based in Hong Kong. McGurin will drive the company's growth and further expansion, in tandem with the development of its parent company, Cargo Services Group, in China, Australia, South Africa and Singapore, as well as its recent entry into the US market.

The newly-created position of ceo will ensure that the organisational structure of ACS adapts to meet its global aspirations. The tactical move also reinforces the strategic growth directive, to bolster competitive positioning within an international marketplace.

Heath Zarin, chairman of Allport Cargo Services Group, says that in the newly created role of ceo, McGurin will "play a pivotal role in further establishing ACS as a market leader on a global scale."
