NTC adapts for wind challenges

NTC Logistics India has acquired a wind tower transporter designed for handling large wind turbine components on poor road infrastructure.

The wind tower transporter is, according to NTC, compatible with modular vehicles and is designed to handle wind tower segments weighing up to 100 tonnes.

Special clamps secure the cargo for safe transportation and quick handling. NTC adds that the transporter also offers improved manoeuvrability.

NTC Logistics explained: “In recent years, the Indian wind equipment industry has shifted towards larger turbines. The major challenge faced by this changing market is the current road infrastructure.

“For the most part, road networks hamper the timely movement of consignments, especially turbines with towers section that are over 4.5 m in diameter.”

NTC is a member of the WCA Projects network in India.
