November 16 - Best Logistics has delivered four parts of a new regenerator for the PCK refinery in Schwedt, Germany.

The shipment was loaded at the MAN DWE factory at Deggendorf, south Germany and from there sailed up the Danube, Main and Rhine on board a barge.

At Rotterdam the parts were transhipped onto an ocean vessel for oncarriage to Szczecin, Poland, where the cargo was transferred back onto a barge to continue the final part of its journey to Schwedt.

Best Logistics says that the limited water depths and low bridges on some part of river voyage from Szczecin to Schwedt created challenges.

The company overcame this by having a combination of 900 tonnes of hard ballast and 600 tonnes of water ballast, which allowed for adjustments in the air draft of the barge.
