AirBridgeCargo adds Amsterdam - Tokyo option

October 23 - AirBridgeCargo Airlines is launching a new weekly B747 freighter service from one of its European gateways at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Narita in Tokyo, Japan.

The Russian carrier will open the new route as part of its 2009/10 winter schedule, and the Wednesday service will fly via AirBridgeCargo's hub at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport.

The flight will be able to carry shipments to all other destinations within AirBridgeCargo's network. Cargo can be easily offloaded in Sheremetyevo for the next connecting flight to other Asian destinations such as Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai.

The new B747-400 all-cargo flight has been launched in response to demands for capacity on the route from the carrier's freight forwarding customers.

Narita first joined the carrier's network in October 2007 with a B747F flight from Frankfurt. Recognising the importance of the Japanese market, AirBridgeCargo has steadily developed its presence over the past two years, and the launch of the new Amsterdam - Narita route is another step in the airline's development strategy.
