BaltShip transports world's longest wind turbine blade

October 24 - International shipping and forwarder BaltShip has successfully transported the world's longest wind turbine blade from SSP Technology in Kirkeby, Denmark to Bremerhaven in Germany.

With a length of 83 m a rotor diameter of 171.2 m the blade ordered by Samsung Heavy Industries is by far the largest such item produced anywhere in the world to date.

The gigantic blade was moved on the 170 km journey by truck from the factory to Esbjerg, from where it was shipped to Bremerhaven, where test facilities are located.
