COSCO Shipping confirms US and European joint ventures

December 17 - Further to our report in last week's Friday Flyer, COSCO Shipping Co Ltd (COSCOL) has confirmed that it has officially established joint ventures with NMA Maritime & Offshore Contractors bv, of the Netherlands.

An official statement said: "After more than twenty-five years of close and productive cooperation in providing safe and efficient worldwide ocean transportation for a wide variety of offshore and onshore industry cargoes, COSCO Shipping Co Ltd and NMA Maritime & Offshore Contractors have decided to further solidify their relationship by forming two joint ventures separately in the Netherlands and the USA" to market Coscol's services.

COSCOL has a large fleet of both semi-submersible and conventional heavy lift vessels and the new joint ventures will continue to be supported by highly experienced personnel and continue to offer clients multiple solutions for the carriage of a wide variety of project cargoes.
