Goeyvaerts places Konecranes order

Belgium-based Goeyvaerts has placed an order with Konecranes for a Gottwald Model 7 mobile harbour crane.

Goeyvaerts placed the order in the third quarter of 2018 and the crane will be delivered to Antwerp in November. The unit will be Goeyvaerts’ 15th Konecranes Gottwald mobile harbour crane.

According to Konecranes, Goeyvaerts will utilise the diesel-electric crane to handle containers and heavy cargo at the port of Antwerp.

The G HMK 7608 variant features a maximum lifting capacity of 150 tonnes and an outreach of up to 54 m.

Rudi Goeyvaerts, ceo of the equipment provider, explained: “Due to the growing need for container twin-lifting and heavy cargo handling, our customers increasingly require larger cranes. The new Konecranes Gottwald Model 7 crane will provide a higher lifting capacity and a wider outreach than our existing machines.”
