Höegh Trapper named

June 7 - The fourth vessel in Höegh Autoliners' series of New Horizon class pure car and truck carriers (PCTC) has been named Höegh Trapper during a naming ceremony at Xiamen Shipbuilding Industries in China.

Höegh Trapper is the fourth in a series of six post Panamax vessels under the New Horizon design that Höegh Autoliners will take delivery of within this year.

The ships have a deck space of 71,400 sq m and a carrying capacity of 8,500 ceu, and can load cargoes measuring up to 6.5 m high and 12 m wide. Loads weighing up to 375 tonnes can be loaded over the stern ramp, while 22 tonnes can be accomodated over the side ramp.

Höegh Trapper will begin its maiden voyage from East Asia to Europe in June, before sailing back to Asia via Africa and Oceania.

HLPFI reported in February that the third vessel in the series had been named Höegh Tracer. The ships join sister vessels Höegh Trigger and Höegh Target, which were delivered in 2015.
