Jumbo transports for Hilli Episeyo

September 21 - Earlier this year, Jumbo Offshore completed the first phase of a project for Golar LNG, involving the transportation and installation of a soft yoke anchor system for the Hilli Episeyo.

The world's first converted floating liquefaction vessel (FLNGV), Hilli Episeyo has been built at the Keppel Shipyard in Singapore.

The second phase of the project, which will take place at the end of the year, will see the hook-up of a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) unit to the subsea anchor system.

Jumbo transported the anchor system from Poland to Cameroon on board its J-Class offshore installation vessel Fairplayer, which has a lifting capacity of 1,000 tonnes and is equipped with a DP2 dynamic position system.

Installing the subsea soft yoke anchoring system took place at the Kribi field, off the coast of Cameroon, the future location of the Hilli Episeyo.

The anchor base, which weighed 250 tonnes, and the soft yoke piles, which weighed 700 tonnes, were installed to secure the anchor system to the seabed. The flexible riser and umbilical of the system were installed after the soft yoke.

Jumbo Offshore contracted N-Sea to assist with the subsea installation of the soft yoke system as well as the hook-up of the Hilli Episeyo. N-Sea was responsible for seabed measuring, mattress placement, anchor base and pile positioning support and pile sleeve sediment removal.
