Liebherr gives Hartinger energy

September 24 - Karl Hartinger Kranbetrieb Gmbh & Co. (Hartinger) has used a 1,200-tonne Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1 mobile crane to install the 3MW Enercon E-101 wind energy plant in Preussisch Oldendorf, Germany.

The heaviest past of the plant, the 63-tonne machine housing, had to be mounted at a hub height of 99 m. The gross load include the lifting gear and hook block came to a total of 66.5 tonnes.

In order to perform the lift, the telescopic boom was extended out to 82 m in length and a 31.6 m lattice jib was mounted on it.

Crane operator Tjerk Thomiczek commented on the 6.5 m long luffing lattice jib: "The hydraulically luffable lattice jib is unbeatable on this crane, because I can set up the entire E-101 from a single position. I never have to reposition - that's a huge advantage. Over the course of the installation, the extension was reduced from 19 m to 10 m."

Hartinger's Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1 and LTR 11200 telescopic cranes also benefit from short set up times and a small footprint on construction sites.

Hartinger, which is headquartered in Warburg-Rimbeck, specialises in crane work and services in the areas of wind energy, heavy transport and factory relocation.
