New president for SC&RA

April 30 - The Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association (SC&RA) appointed a new president during its annual conference, which took place in La Quinta, California last week.

Paul LeFebvre, of LeFebvre & Sons, Inc., will hold office in 2009 and 2010 and replaces Randall Goddard of Atlas Industrial Contractors Ltd, who becomes chairman.

The event, attended by HLPFI, included an awards presentation, with prizes for crane and rigging safety, zero accidents and safety improvement.

Longevity awards were presented to long-standing members, including Hennes Services, Inc. - which has been involved with the organisation for 60 years - and Rogers Brothers Corporation and Underwood Machinery Transport, Inc., both members for the last 50 years.

SC&RA is an international trade association of more than 1,300 organisations from 43 nations. Members are involved in specialized transportation, machinery moving and erecting, industrial maintenance, millwrighting and crane and rigging operations, manufacturing and rental.
