Fred. Olsen Ocean has opened a branch office in Taipei, Taiwan to support the growing offshore wind business in the Asia Pacific region.
During the spring of 2020, Fred. Olsen Windcarrier will mobilise one of its purpose-built jack-up vessels for the Yunlin offshore wind farm, off Taiwan – the company’s first transportation and installation project in Asia.
Ahead of this project, the offshore specialist has opened an office in the centre of Taipei that will serve as the base for Hans A. Hansen, the company’s newly appointed regional manager for the Asia Pacific region.
The company’s other divisions – Fred. Olsen Windcarrier, Global Wind Service and Universal Foundation – will also be represented at the office.
“Taiwan and the Asia Pacific region holds many opportunities for our business, and we believe Taipei is the ideal location from which we can easily reach our clients in very short time. We want to leverage the experience and competence we have in our companies and teams onshore and offshore to bring our industry forward and to build value locally where we operate. We are especially focused on the interesting future projects in Taiwan,” said Hansen.
