November 27 - Gefco Spain and Gefco Russia have signed a contract with Spanish railway manufacturer, Talgo, for the shipping and distribution of six Talgo trains in Russia.

Gefco will handle the transport and distribution of six passenger trains for the Moscow-Berlin and Moscow-Kiev railway lines, as well as manage the Customs formalities.

Gefco Spain will transport the trains, which have already been manufactured, from Rivabellosa in Spain to the Russian port of Ust-Luga, from where Gefco's Russian subsidiary will take over the unloading and onward transport of the cargo by rail to Moscow.

Within the contract, Gefco Spain will also provide air freight services to Russia two to three times a week, for the delivery of spare parts and components.

Despite the current challenging environment, Russia remains one of the group's priority growth areas, said Gefco, in which state-run Russian Railways (RZD) has a 75 percent stake.
