July 2 - BBC Chartering's heavy lift vessel BBC Xingxang has delivered ten heavy-duty locomotives to Mozambique for the Nacala corridor railroad.

Mining company Vale has invested in developing the Nacala corridor project for transporting coal from the Moatize mine to the seaport of Beira. The 912 km long corridor is currently under development and is expected to have a transport capacity of 18 million tonnes of coal per year.

The 7,300 dwt BBC Xingxang offers a combined lifting capacity of 700 tonnes, and successfully discharged the ten locomotives in dual lift operations.

BBC Chartering operates eight vessels of this type.
