November 27 - MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has been contracted by Hyundai Heavy Industries to deliver ro-ro access equipment packages for two ro-ro carriers currently under construction for Luxembourg based operator CLdN.

The comprehensive cargo access systems will be delivered to the two post-Panamax 8,000 lane metre vessels, which are currently under construction at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) in South Korea.

The 235 m long by 35 m wide ships were ordered as part of CLdN's fleet expansion and modernisation programme, which also includes options for an additional three vessels.

Each MacGregor ro-ro access equipment package will comprise a stern ramp, internal ramps, bulkhead doors and four levels of hoistable electrically-operated car decks. The gross weight of the equipment is around 2,200 tonnes per ship.

The vessels are expected to enter into service in 2017 for deployment on CLdN's regular service in northern Europe.
