November 27 - According to reports in the international media, Bladt Industries has completed the shipment of the tower sections for Vestas' 8 MW offshore wind turbine prototype, with Mammoet handling the road transportation.
The five sections of the tower were loaded in Aalborg, Denmark and shipped to Hanstholm, where Mammoet handled the 80 km road transportation to the Danish national test centre for large wind turbines in Østerild, North Denmark.
When assembled, the 133 m high tower weighs 700 tonnes with a diameter of 6.5 m at the base and 4.5 m at the top.
