ALE installs on drilling rig

March 29 - ALE has installed the 402 tonne leg sections and the 575 tonne accommodation block of a jack up drilling rig for Swecomex in Tuxpan, Mexico, using the company's CC 8800-1 crane.

Installation of the leg sections required a 108 m main boom, 12 m fixed jib angled at 15º and a 50 m backmast. The load was raised to 30 m radius, with a 440 tonne counterweight.

The crane's configuration was changed to 78 m main boom and 50 m backmast, working at 22 m radius and with 440 tonne to lift and install the accommodation block.

ALE will also perform the installation of the heliport and the drilling rig, again using the company's CC 8800-1 crane.
