Damco and General Holding join forces in Abu Dhabi

January 21 - Damco, the logistics arm of A.P. Moller, and General Holding Corporation have formed a joint venture, Damco Abu Dhabi, to provide logistics and forwarding services to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Target business includes project cargo, industrial products and FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) in the region. The company plans to employ around 40 staff next year and plans to establish offices in the airport and other key locations in the emirate. An area has also been earmarked for a substantial warehouse development.

Damco is one of the world's leading third party logistics providers specialising in customised freight forwarding and supply chain activity. The company has 10,500 employees in over 280 offices across 90 countries and representation in 120 countries in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, Middle East, and Latin America.
