Hansa Meyer sets up in USA

March 22 - Hansa Meyer Global has established its own company in the USA - Hansa Meyer Heavy Haul & Rigging - which has already undertaken a number of specialised transportation projects.

Hansa Meyer has invested over USD7 million in equipment for the US company, which was officially set up in October 2015.

Hansa Meyer Heavy Haul & Rigging will offer heavy transport, installation and crane services, as well as warehousing, engineering and transport solutions.

The company claims that manufacturers and EPC companies will benefit from receiving a total range of logistic services from one entity.

Mark Watson
has been appointed president and ceo of Hansa Meyer Heavy Haul & Rigging, while Frank Scheibner, previous president and ceo of Hansa Meyer Global Transport USA, takes on the position of chairman.

The US transport provider has recently executed the delivery of a 195,643 lb (88.7-tonne) slug catcher from Houston to Kermit in Texas.

The unit, which measured 54.1 ft x 10.6 ft x 10.1 ft (16.4 m x 3.2 m x 3 m), was moved on ten axle lines of Goldhofer modular trailers and accompanied by two escort trucks and two police motorcycles.
