October 10 - Polytra has coordinated the delivery of 3,200 solar panels from China to a small village in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Since the roads leading to the job site were in a poor condition, Polytra explained that it had no alternative but to fly the panels into the DRC.

Landing space was also limited, so Polytra was required to charter an Antonov 32B aircraft, which made 16 flights into the village with the solar panels on board. Due to a lack of handling equipment, the panels had to be unloaded from the freighter by hand.

Although the actual operations lasted no more than a week, Polytra noted that the preparation of the complex project took over a year to complete.

Polytra is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) representing Belgium and the DRC.
