Transafe delivers for Omsk

September 12 - Russian logistics provider, Transafe Logistics, has delivered out-of-gauge (OOG) equipment for a hydrogen production unit at Gazprom Neft's Omsk refinery in Russia.

The project, which began in April 2017, involved the transport of 20 OOG units originating from Italy, Romania, Germany, Czech Republic, the Netherlands and China to the refinery in Siberia.

According to Transafe, for the heavier and larger components, the longest distance travelled was 6,500 km.

Transafe used the Russian ports of St Petersburg and Vladivostok, as well as the ports of Ravenna, Italy; Lübeck, Germany; and Liepaja, Latvia, for its transhipment operations.

In total, the project required 85 standard trucks and containers to transport the equipment.

Transafe, which is a specialised logistics provider for mining, power generation, oil and gas, petrochemical and chemical industries, says the Omsk refinery is in the second phase of its modernisation programme that will increase refining volumes and improve the production of light petroleum products.
