UECC wins Scania contract

June 26 - Automotive manufacturer, Scania, has awarded UECC a contract for the carriage of its trucks built in Zwolle, the Netherlands bound for the Russian market, with the first shipment taking place earlier this month.

The units will be processed through the Port of Zeebrugge and transported on board UECC's E-Class vessels, Auto Eco and Auto Energy, which run on liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The vessels are deployed on UECC's Baltic trade service, which operates on a weekly frequency between Southampton, Zeebrugge, Bremerhaven, Malmo, Hanko, St. Petersberg, stopping every two weeks at Gdynia, before returning to Southampton.

 The Scania truck cabs and chassis' will be delivered to the Port of St. Petersburg.

According to UECC, the two Finnish/Swedish ice class 1A Super vessels are the largest Pure Car/Truck Carriers (PCTC) in the world.
