September 13 - Sarens' Australian division has installed 67 wind turbines at the Hornsdale wind farm, in south Australia.

After completing the installation of 32 wind turbines at the second phase of the Hornsdale wind farm, Sarens installed a further 35 turbines for the third phase of the project on behalf of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy.

Sarens utilised a 750-tonne capacity Liebherr LG1750, a 500-tonne Liebherr LTM1500, and five support cranes with a lifting capacity ranging from 25 tons (tonnes) to 130 tons (tonnes) to perform the lifting works on site.

According to Sarens' project manager, Tim Devoldere, a maximum of five turbines, which had a hub height of 92 m, were installed per week, with the heaviest component being the 78-tonne nacelle.

The Hornsdale wind farm, located north of Jamestown, will have a total of 99 wind turbines upon completion.
