September 29 - XLProjects (XLP) has concluded its fifth annual general meeting (AGM) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

XLP members from across the world, covering six major continents, attended the event at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel earlier this week.

The event featured the network's annual awards ceremony, with FLS Projects taking home the award for most active member.

Winning the heaviest combined shipment award was Yuexin Logistics for a cement plant project, which involved the movement of 2,500 tonnes of cargo. The planning and coordination award went to Egyptian Global Logistics (EGL), while best network partner was awarded to Freight Traders.

Star Shipping was awarded the biggest combined volume shipment award for its 3,008 cu m power plant shipment from Mumbai, India to Karachi, Pakistan, and the award for performance under challenging conditions for a separate project.

Spanning a distance of 12,181 nautical miles (22,559 km), Mercomar's tugboat project was recognised with the longest point-to-point distance award.

The event's corporate sponsor was Volga-Dnepr, while the silver sponsor was L.C Van Tiel Logistics.
