October 8 - Russia's AirBridgeCargo Airlines, a part of the Volga-Dnepr Group, has transported 223,732 tonnes of cargo in the first eight months of 2013.

The freighter airline, whose network links Europe, Asia, Russia and North America, says its cargo traffic rose by 4 percent year-on-year over the same period of 2012.

In August 2013, the airline transported 30,538 tonnes of cargo, up 5 percent year-on-year; the average load factor also grew by 6 points to 73 percent.

The carrier said that its positive growth, especially in the low summer season, was due to the support of its clients, and its focused work on improving operating performance indicators to boost the quality of its air cargo transportation product.
