December 5 - Classification and technical services provider, ABS, has appointed Howard Fireman, previously the organisation's chief technology officer, as chief digital officer.

Fireman will lead a team of experts in the fields of data analytics, inspection technologies, mobile technologies and cybersecutiry, as well as continuing to drive the development of software.

As part of the organisation's digital class strategy, Joseph Gollapalli joins ABS as vice president, digital technology. Previously, Gollapalli was the chief information officer and digital transformation leader for the drilling division of GE Oil and Gas. With ABS, Gollapalli will lead a global team dedicated to building digital solutions for marine and offshore inspection processes in order to increase asset uptime while reducing costs.

ABS has also appointed Ryan Moody as vice president, strategic development. Moody brings nearly 20 years of engineering management and strategic leadership in the oil and gas industry and most recently served as the senior strategist for industrial cyber security at Siemens.
