October 7 - ACE Group has appointed Captain Sivakumaran Divakaran as its new marine risk manager for Asia Pacific.
Based in Kuala Lumpur, Divakaran will be part of ACE's Asia Pacific marine team, which provides marine cargo insurance for a wide commodity range with customised risk management solutions. He will also play an active role in the company's project cargo practice.
Joining ACE with over 20 years' experience in the shipping industry, Divakaran will report to Anthony O'Brien, regional head of marine insurance for Asia Pacific.
"Captain Siva is a welcome addition to the team as a qualified master mariner, having served at sea for close to ten years onboard general cargo and bulk carriers, as well as multipurpose and offshore drilling vessels," said O'Brien. "As such, he has developed intimate knowledge of many complex freight movement tasks and ocean shipping risk exposures especially within Asian shipping environments."
