Agility appoints global SVP Sea Freight

December 21 - Agility Global Integrated Logistics has appointed Thomas Peikert as global SVP for Sea Freight.

He has more than 30 years of experience in the industry and joined Agility in 1990. Since then he has held numerous sales and sea freight product-related roles in the Asia Pacific management team; most recently as SVP business development for the Asia Pacific region, based in Hong Kong.

Peikert says: "I am delighted to have been given this opportunity to work on a global level and I am looking forward to the challenge. Agility has an excellent network and sea freight team and now we want to expand and improve our sea freight services to our customers around the world."

Under its project logistics arm, headed by Thomas J Griffin, president and CEO, Agility is one of the global top five project and heavy lift providers. The forwarder handles projects from beginning to end, co-ordinating the flow of materials, handling restrictions in difficult or remote areas, managing site operations, providing flexible options and staging supply lines to meet exacting deadlines. Its specialty is oil and gas, mining and marine logistics.
