March 2 - Alexander Global Logistics (AGL) has handled the transport of lock sections from Germany to Romania as part of an ongoing project for the construction of a giant lock system on the Danube River.

The sections were transported from the manufacturer's location in Germany to the inland port of Regensburg using specialised trailers, before being loaded onto a barge for shipment downriver to Romania.

As well as the transport, AGL took care of all handling, documentation and surveying.

The complete lock system will weigh over 1,300 tonnes, with the dimensions 105 m x 45 m x 10.5 m.

Alexander Global Logistics is a member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN) in Germany, as well as Russia and Mongolia.
