January 7 - Alexander Global Logistics (AGL) has shipped 16 fire engines from Italy to Mongolia; and delivered 2,000 freight tonnes of graders from Germany to Bangladesh.

The 16 fire trucks were delivered to the Italian port of Savona and loaded onto a ro-ro vessel for shipment to the Port of Tianjin in China.

In Tianjin, AGL Germany worked together with AGL Mongolia to organise the protection of the fire engines, as well as their loading onto low loader trailers for transport to Zamyn-Üüdd on the China-Mongolia border.

With Customs clearance obtained and the border crossed, the engines were loaded onto Mongolian railcars and delivered to Ulan Bator, where the trucks were handed over to the Ulan Bator City Fire Brigade.

Meanwhile, the graders were also loaded onto a ro-ro vessel at the German port of Bremerhaven for shipment to Bangladesh's Chittagong port, and final delivery to the UN and the Bangladesh Army.

The scope of AGL's work included pre carriage to the German port, inspection of the cargo, loading and securing, sea freight, import Customs clearance and handling at Chittagong port.

AGL is a member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN).
