June 5 - ALE has completed the second stage of a project to transport equipment from Ersai yard in Kazakhstan to the Tashkent thermal power plant in Uzbekistan by road.

HLPFI reported in December 2014 that ALE had transported a 280-tonne gas turbine to the plant, which the company claimed was one of the heaviest loads to have been moved in the Caspian region.

ALE has now also transported a 140-tonne steam turbine and 180-tonne generator along the challenging 2,200 km route through the Mangystau desert, utilising 34 axle lines of conventional trailers and three heavy-duty prime movers.

It took a total of one month to transport both units from Kazakhstan to the Uzbekistan plant.
