January 21 - Atlantic Ro-Ro Carriers (ARRC) has added a new regular call at the Port of Charleston's Columbus Street Terminal.

The first ARRC vessel - Baltic Mercur II, pictured below - arrived on January 8, carrying approximately 6,000 tonnes of import cargo, said the South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA).

ARRC has added the Port of Charleston to its Baltic-Atlantic service, which connects St Petersburg, Russia and north European ports with the US east coast, carrying breakbulk and project cargoes, as well as containers and rolling stock.

"ARRC's multipurpose capabilities are an exciting addition to SCPA's breakbulk opportunities that further enhance our connection with north Europe," said SCPA senior vice president of sales and marketing Paul McClintock.
