May 22 - BBC Chartering will launch the BBC Euro-Gulf Express Line service, departing every fortnight from Europe to the US Gulf, starting in mid-June, 2017.

The service operates under BBC Chartering's liner and semi-liner network which utilises the carrier's fleet of 180 multipurpose and heavy lift vessels, including ro-ro tonnage.

According to Svend Andersen, BBC Chartering's ceo, the service connects Hamburg, Germany with the first US Gulf port of call in approximately 19 days, which Andersen says provides customers with "significant time savings compared to existing services in the market."

The launch of the BBC Euro-Gulf Express Line follows the extension of BBC's westbound capacity with its Med-America Service, as HLPFI reported here. According to BBC the services have been launched against a background of existing volume contracts.

Regular loading ports for the service are Antwerp, Bremen, and Hamburg, while discharge ports are Mobile, Alabama and Houston, Texas, although additional ports can be added, says BBC.
