April 30 - The Port of Beaumont, Texas, recently played host to the USNS Mendonca - the largest cargo ship in the US Navy - which was transporting over 1,650 pieces of military cargo.

Mendonca, a Bob Hope class ro-ro vessel, measures 951 ft (289.9 m) long and comes in just 172 ft (52.4 m) shorter than an aircraft carrier. It was delivering an entire Army Brigade's worth of equipment including vehicles, trailers, helicopters and other rolling stock.

Soldiers from the 842nd Transportation Battalion discharged the cargoes.
