November 27 - Mammoet has transported a fully-assembled Caterpillar 797 haul truck from Fort McKay, Canada to a mining site in the region for Finning International.

This move followed the signing of an agreement between Mammoet and Finning for transport between customer sites in the Wood Buffalo region of Alberta, Canada.

This is the first time that Mammoet has transported a fully-assembled Cat 797 model for Finning. It explained that in the past the trucks were disassembled prior to transport and then reassembled at the client's site, but this method added to cost and time.

Weighing in at around 590 tonnes, the entire Cat 797 model was no easy unit to transport, said Mammoet. This truck move is scheduled to be followed by more deliveries before the end of the year.
