September 9 - Long Beach, California headquartered Extra Logistics LLC has transported a 16-tonne outsize mineral processing machine from a cement factory in Spain to the Port of Los Angeles.

The machine was shipped on a 40 ft flatrack onboard Hamburg Süd's vessel Santa Roberta, which is deployed on the company's West Mediterranean/Pacific Coast service.

President of Extra Logistics, Peter Gruettner, explained that the company often performs shipments for this cement manufacturing company in Spain, including small factory parts and bricks.

Gruettner added that he is experiencing a rise in enquiries related to the transport of out-of-gauge and project cargoes.

The company also regularly ships submarines (one of which is pictured below).
