Fairstar wins rig transport contract

September 28 - Fairstar Heavy Transport has been awarded a new transportation contract by Hercules Offshore to transport the Hercules 185 jack-up rig from Port Gentil, Gabon to either Pascagoula, Mississippi or Bahrain using the Fairstar semi-submersible

The contract revenue is just under USD3 million and the rig is expected to be loaded onboard the Fjell on October 5. The final destination will be nominated by Hercules once the rig has been loaded.

Fjell has been en route to Alaska to begin work on a fertilizer llant project and will continue on to Alaska once the rig has been discharged and will begin preparation to load the first stage of modules scheduled for transport to Nigeria.
