Globalink double from Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia

June 21 - Globalink's Aktau team recently handled two massive projects for the transportation of out of gauge cargo of about 3,200 cu m from Aktau, Kazakhstan to Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

Required for an ongoing oil and gas project, the cargo was carried by barge chartered specially for the journey to the Black Sea port of Mareupol, Ukraine via the Volga Don River, then by a deep-sea project ship for the final journey to Dammam.

Globalink claims that its in-depth knowledge of the region was essential, adding that whilst a transit via Iran would have certainly been the shortest route, that solution could not be used due to customer requirements, as well as the political climate.

The customer for this particular transportation uses Globalink's services frequently.
