March 13 - Revolution Energy, LLC and the Port of Corpus Christi are set to celebrate the official opening of the first phase of the 'Harbor Wind Energy Farm' later today.

The project has been developed on the North side of Port Corpus Christi Inner Harbor and, says the port authority, is known to be one of the first wind energy farms located on industrial port property in North America.

"The Port is honoured to have Revolution Energy, LLC as one of its tenants. This project marks a step forward towards the Port's support to the future of clean energy; positioning the port as one of America's Wind Energy Ports leaders." said Mike Carrell, chairman, Port Corpus Christi Commission.

Revolution Energy, LLC, began developing the Harbor Wind Project in 2006. The project began transmitting power to the grid last month and consists of the installation of six wind turbines at a total cost of USD20 million, generating 30 million kWh/year of clean energy, equal to the electricity needs of nearly 2,500 homes.

"The port has been very supportive of this project from the very beginning. Our wind project is another sign of the diversification of energy supply at the port and the local community," said Tibor Hegedus, General Manager, Revolution Energy.

Revolution Energy is a veteran-owned small business dedicated to developing, owning, and operating renewable energy assets in the United States.
