September 4 - Höegh Autoliners' new pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) Höegh Target is scheduled to make its first French port call at the ro-ro terminal at Haropa's port of Le Havre on September 7.

With a carrying capacity of 8,500 ceu, a deck space of 71,400 sq m, a stern ramp capacity of 375 tonnes and a 6.5 m high door, the vessel is currently the largest PCTC in service worldwide. Höegh Target is the first in a series of six such vessels that Höegh plans to build within the next 18 months.

Hervé Cornède, commercial and marketing director of Haropa, said that the call was a reminder of the port's intentions to develop its high and heavy, heavy-duty truck and industrial projects markets using ro-ro shipping services.

On leaving Le Havre, the vessel is expected to call at the UK port of Southampton on September 8.
