HLPFI understands that Zeamarine has divested its Americas Liner business, which operates 10 multipurpose vessels serving customers in the US-South America trade.

Industrial Maritime Carriers (IMC) will operate the business under its former brand name Intermarine.

Confirmed details of Intermarine’s resurrection are thin on the ground but a letter from IMC to vendors said that an “independent and new ownership structure” had been found for the business.

Richard Seeg, formerly managing director, Americas at Zeamarine, has been named ceo of the relaunched Intermarine.

Zeamarine has remained quiet and declined to comment on the latest update in the restructuring saga, which has already seen a number of senior executives depart the organisation and a large portion of its fleet move into the hands of competitors.

HLPFI continues to track the story.
