May 29 - The Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) has announced that it is gearing up to handle project cargoes on its regular services between the Middle East Gulf, the Mediterranean, Europe and the Far East.

IRISL says that it recently handled a consignment weighing 330 tonnes with a length of 31 m, plus a width and height of about 4.5 m at the Port of Bandar Abbas, Iran in early May and adds that its ships can handle individual consignments with a maximum weight of 500 tonnes.

For several decades, the IRISL shipping company has operated regular container and conventional liner services with 170 of its own ships.
