May 25 - Copenhagen-based Licvem Shipping & Trading and Tokyo-based NYK Bulk & Projects Carriers (NBP) have established a joint venture called Licvem NBP ApS (LBP), which will target the carriage of breakbulk cargo to and from ports primarily in Europe an

NBP is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line) and a leading ocean carrier of project and heavy cargoes, steel products and bulk commodities.

Licvem is primarily active as a charter operator, specialising in the transport of AN, IMO-1, project and UN cargo in Africa and the Middle East. The company acts as an operator of multipurpose ships (between 2,000 and 20,000 DWT) and charters between 45 and 60 vessels per year.

The new joint venture company LBP will commercially operate a number of multipurpose ships for breakbulk, dry bulk, general and project cargo, as well as IMO and ro-ro cargoes, principally but not limited to European and African markets.
