October 16 - Laninco has moved a total of 2,800 tonnes of cargo for a power plant, from the port of Caldera to Las Pailas in the Guanacaste Province of Costa Rica.

The cargo consisted of multiple heavy load elements including 17 m long 75-tonne condensers, and 12.5 m long 65-tonne separators. Several other units had a weight of up to 60 tonnes.

The total charter shipment handled was 1,600 tonnes but with the addition of regular and other flat rack and open top container cargo, the total weight of the cargo came to 2,800 tonnes.

Extended lowboy trailers were used to complete the transportation from the port to the geothermal binary power plant in Las Pailas. Some difficulty was caused by weak and low bridges on route but the cargo was successfully delivered on time, Laninco says.

Laninco is a member of the Global Project Logistics Network (GPLN).
