February 27 - Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH has delivered a new LTM 1200-5.1 mobile crane to crane hire specialist, Sommer Kranverleih GmbH, or Bremen, Germany.

The new 200 tonner will be replacing an LTM 1160-5.1. Managing director of Sommer Kranverleih who visited Ehingen with his wife, especially for the event, said: "With its excellent lifting capacity, this crane is extremely flexible in its applications. It is very well-suited for steel construction, for assembling prefabricated concrete elements, and even as an ancillary crane in the wind power sector."

With its 72 metre long telescopic boom, boom extension, and folding jib, it can achieve an enormous height under hook of 98 m, says Liebherr

All 15 mobile cranes in the Sommer Kranverleih fleet bear the Liebherr logo and a sixteenth will be soon: an LTM 1095-5.1.

Meanwhile, the first Liebherr LTR 1060 telescopic crawler crane has been delivered into the Polish market for construction company IMB Podbeskidzie, of Skoczów, Southern Poland.

The main area of activity of IMB Podbeskidzie is new construction and the upgrading of bridges, as well as general civil engineering and concrete production. Over the past few years the company has succeeded in establishing a strong position in the Polish bridge building sector.

In buying the LTR 1060, the company was opting for a machine which combines the advantages of a telescopic crane with those of a crawler crane.

Liebherr says that the telescopic boom can be extended rapidly and fully automatically to the desired length, while at the same time the crane achieves very high efficiency with short set-up times, easy transport, and a variable boom system. The crawler travel gear provides excellent off-road capability, as well as making the machine highly manoeuvrable. And, as well as that, the LTR 1060 can travel fully equipped and under full load.
