EGL completes Cairo shipment

Egyptian Global Logistics (EGL) has delivered cargoes for the Cairo West power station project, under development by Cairo Electricity Production.

The shipment included a turbine generator unit, four 228-tonne units, accessories and containers.

The project site is located approximately 258 km from the port of Alexandria on the west bank of the Nile River.

Due to congestion in Alexandria, EGL arranged for the vessel to berth alongside the container terminal at the port of El Dekheila, securing sufficient storage space to unload the components.

The company’s project scope also included a route survey, transport study, bridge assessments, civil works and the removal of street furniture.

EGL is a member of The Heavy Lift Group (THLG).
